LCL is creating a fun, interactive space that is appealing to kids and teens of all ages at our Downtown Newark location.

After 20 years of continuous use, the Youth Services level is showing its age. A refresh is needed that provides better safety, security and lines of sight. The kids need an area where they can use their imagination and play while guardians can know they are safe.

The new space, set to open in May, will have a designated space for early literacy—like Story Times. An expanded programming space that is modern and inviting will enable us to host large groups. Two gaming rooms, a space for tutoring as well as a family comfort room are all being added so we meet the needs of our community.

While the improvements are happening in March and April, access to the lower level is closed. Programming is continuing but is being conducted in other areas of the Library—just ask and we’ll guide you in the right direction. We look forward to welcoming families just in time for Imagine Your Story Summer Library 2020!
