Welcome to Licking County Library

Lakewood Construction Begins

Lakewood is Under Construction

Construction has begun on Licking County Library’s Lakewood branch in the Arrowhead Plaza in Hebron and is expected to be finished in early September. After a successful bidding process, LCL and the Board of Trustees recently secured a contract with T-built Construction Services.

The architects from Schooley Caldwell & Associates have been working to present LCL’s vision of the new Lakewood branch and its many amenities, such as a large multi-purpose room and enhanced collections. Aside from their work on branches for the Columbus Metropolitan Library, Schooley Caldwell & Associates most recently completed renovations at the Newark Arcade, making them a trusted partner to lead this project.

“We are eager to proceed with this project and are excited to introduce residents to this contemporary and vibrant space!” says Julia Walden, Executive Director of Licking County Library.

Updates on this project and the timeline for the merger of the Hebron and Buckeye Lake locations will be posted here when available. View the lookbook below for artist renderings on the potential look of the Lakewood branch.

As construction of the Lakewood branch progresses, the merger of our Buckeye Lake and Hebron locations has officially begun! LCL staff will begin to inventory and prepare materials and equipment for the move. The last day to visit LCL’s Buckeye Lake location is Saturday, August 30, from 10am – 3pm. Updates regarding our Hebron location are still pending.
